First try: Fedora 8

I used Fedora 8 as my first distro to try, because I was going to be teaching a Linux System Admin class and it used Fedora 8 for the labs. This worked well in the lab, but did not work well on my Acer Aspire laptop, because the driver for the wireless card was not correct.

This created a painful situation where I needed to run an Ethernet cable to the laptop in order to search the web for new drivers. Since Fedora 11 was just released, Fedora 8 was end of lifed and repositories were no longer listing Fedora 8 packages. I was very impressed to see that level of coordination between repos and distros.
